This is the second year of this initiative and will consist of invited groups from Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland and the Polish community. The event will take place at TAGIT Fishing Clubs Golden Glen facility in Newtownards on the 1st of June. The aim of this event is to bring members of different ages, religious and ethnic backgrounds together to help further peace, reconciliation and to have an understanding of cultural differences with the hope of furthering a shared future through the sport of fishing. Hopefully we can leave a legacy within groups that can develop further positive relationships whilst sharing cultural learning and respect for each other. The participating clubs will be fishing for various species between game and coarse fish, with the following methods being allowed. Fly, Feeder and Float. This will be a pegged event with bait and refreshments being provided on the day. It is hoped that each following year we can expand this event to include more clubs from across all of the Island of Ireland. This event is run in partnership and funded by Ards Council and the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure.
