There was a big run of dollaghan into the River Maine at Shane’s Castle on Tuesday of last week after a small rise in water levels.
Michael Martin, the Six Mile Water expert, tells me that one angler stopped fishing early after landing his tenth fish.
Michael said that all day three or four dollaghan could be seen splashing through the runs, creating quite a spectacle.
Paul Bourke of Irish Angling said it was another very warm week for angling in Ireland although there were periods of heavy rain in some parts of the country. He said that many rivers and loughs were very low and that some consistent rainfall was needed to help liven up the fishing….
