Pawel Orlow reports that the Fishmaniak pike boat competition was held last weekend (8th June’14) on River Erne in Belturbet. The competition started at 8.30am, following a meeting and short briefing during which each team got a club measuring tape and instructions. The event was very successful even though the weather was not that great. During the competition there were heavy rain showers and thunder and lightning. Despite this lots of fish were landed and many more missed and lost.

A total of 17 enthusiastic contestants took part in the event on this venue and managed to catch 58 pike all together.

After the event we had a barbecue and the prize-giving.

The Results of the Competition are as follows:

1st place – Henryk Walkowiak – 11 pike

2nd place – Janis – 4 pike

3rd place – Sebastian Kisiel – 5 pike.
