Liam O’Brien and Sheila Bromley report that Ballybay Angling Association held their now annual team event on Lough Muckno on the 29th March 2015. 28 teams turned out to fish the event – which leaves it as one of the biggest team events in Ireland.
The draw was held promptly at 9am and all 28 teams (112 anglers) were allocated their peg numbers within half an hour and were on the bank shortly thereafter. Fishing commenced at 11am and finished at 4pm. The weather was a bit of a mixed bag, but did not deter the anglers and their fishing.
The catches consisted mainly of roach and perch, with a few hybrids and skimmers showing up.
The results are as follows:
1st Lurgan A Team 24 points
2nd Champion Feed – Belfast Black 29 points
3rd Ballyhaunis Angling Club C 30 points
4th Champion Feed – Shercock 33 points
Darren Fairhust took care of the individuals – the results of which are as follows:
Remigijus Chukas, Bow Donaldson, Ewan Weed, Andy Chapman and Julian Kendrick.
