Brian O’Neill has been in touch to tell us about his second trip with Rory Hanrahan teaching him the different rigs and methods of coarse fishing. This time Brian and his fishing buddies brought Rory to Annagheirn lake just outside Shercock in County Cavan. Brian says that “the species we were after were Roach, Perch, Skimmers and Pike. We had great success with Perch and Roach on cage feeder using brown crumb and 6mm pellet with white and red maggot on a 16 semi barbed hook. Dead baits were used for Pike but they preferred chasing after Roach and perch just as they were being landed. Rory now has two types of coarse fish under his belt and its all out for the Pike now”.
