This weekend saw teams from three provinces Leinster, Munster and Connacht fish for the NCFFI Inter-Provincial title. Super hospitality was provided by the Suck Valley Angling Hub who prepared the fishing on three sections of the River Suck, Donamon, Ballyforan and Corcoran’s. With the Athleague Heritage Angling Centre providing the draw and presentation venue.
Rory Dunne’s top weight on both days helped lead Connacht to victory for the second year in a row with a score of 27 points. It was a close call between Leinster and Munster with just a point in it, the Leinster boys just taking runner-up with their 46 points to Munster’s 47.
But most of all, the anglers from all provinces are reporting a fantastic weekend’s get together to fish! Congratulations to Connacht and well done done to all that took part.
In 2016 it’s Leinster’s turn to host the event when Connacht will surely be back to defend their title and we hope to see Ulster field a team.
