Eddie Long PRO with Naas and District Anglers has been in touch to let us know that the fifth round of the Naas and District Anglers Winter League was held last Sunday 8th March 2015. The match took place in beautiful and picturesque village of the monks, Graiguenamanagh. Eddie says that they received a wonderful welcome from the Mich and the guys from Graiguenamanagh Angling Club who opened their clubhouse to the lads, provided them with tea and coffee and also a place to hold the peg draw for the match. Kids from the local school even made and painted pegs for the match.
Bowled over by the welcome Eddie commented “From all of us here at Naas and Anglers, thank you so much for making our club feel so welcome in your beautiful town!”
On Sunday last, 21 anglers took part in the competition and the match kicked off at 11.30am and conditions were excellent for the match. Everyone caught fish and there was not a single empty net. Most pegs fished well and everyone really enjoyed
the match and more so the venue. Most people walking or cycling past our pegs were very friendly
seemed genuinely interested in the match taking place. 🙂
The Results of the Match are as follows
Section 1
- 1st Paul McLoughlin 23lb 10oz, 2nd Peter Walsh 22lb 1oz
Section 2
