One of the great things about angling is introducing others to the sport and sharing the many great experiences such as catching your first fish with friends and family. Brian O’Neill has been in touch to tell us about a day out angling with his friend Rory Hanrahan who had never caught a fresh water fish of any species. So the lads all met up at Lisnashannagh just outside Carickmacross to start Rory off on the waggler float size 16 hook and target fish being Roach. They started the day slowly with low temp and high winds and after about an hour Rory was into his first fish and more to follow throughout the day. The lads are looking forward to their next outing which will be targeting Pike on dead bait and spinning lure.
