Bill Ryan is back inĀ West Clare on hisĀ annual Wrasse fishing expedition. So far heĀ has onlyĀ managed to fish one day out of three due to a heavy swell which has been making any rock fishing extremely dangerous.
The one day lull allowed himĀ to fish safely at the Bridges of Ross where the wrasse were plentiful with several over 4 lbs. The best of theseĀ weighed 4.65 lbs.
Crab fished on light tackle accounted for all the fish.
All were returned alive.
Bill hopes to get out again if conditions improve and maybe connect with theĀ triggerfish which can be caught from marks in Clare fromĀ August toĀ September.
