Following a number of sea angling forays in Wexford, Waterford and Cork, top sea angler Peter Cunningham from the Drogheda Angling Centre has started fishing on his home waters of the North east again. Improved conditions and better weather have improved the chances of a few fish in the Louth area. On Thursday evening Peter and Ivan Murphy decided to tackle the County Louth coastline. The water is quite clear at the moment even with the easterly breezes and there is only small amounts of weed on the tides. A short session on Thursday evening produced a good number of fish for Peter and Ivan with catches mainly consisting of flounder and some small bass. Most fish were taken on rag and with the tides rising into dusk and darkness a big bass is a distinct possibility.

There has been some angling activity as well on the South beach Laytown and we will keep you posted on any catches reported to us.

If you are planning a fishing trip in the north east or further afield then why not give Peter a call or drop into him for a chat at the Drogheda Angling Centre, Boyne Shopping Centre, Drogheda.
