Denis Goulding PRO of the Irish Trout Fly Fishing Association reports:
Well done to Ciaran Newman (Dereverragh) winner of the I.T.F.F..A. Leinster National Qualifier on Lough Owel on Saturday the 26th september. Ciaran fished hard throughout the day and ended up with 8 fish ( partly catch and release) for 11 lb. A wonderful performance, well done Ciaran
There were a total of 96 entrants that caught over 200 trout. A credit to the lake and to the Lough Owel Trout Preservation Association who look after Lough Owel alongside the I.F.I. Many thanks to the local club for letting Leinster I.T.F.F.A. use their facilities.
