Co Clare waters saw skipper Luke Aston landing Pollack, ling and haddock last week. Even though Thursday’s conditions were poor anglers still managed 2 blues to the boat the one below at about 25 lbs and a good fighting 65 pounder.
Friday got wet and windy but there were still some good double figure Thornback Ray around.
Saturday was busy with Pollack and mackerel bashing and Sunday saw a return of the calm seas. Luke says they got some very good fishing with a nice mix of species, including common and bottle nosed Dolphins, humpback and Minkie whales around the boat. Great company!
Enjoying the Atlantic too was Séan Maguire’s Lady Gwen II who had good steady fishing last week with lots of mackerel around. Friday was a little choppy for a group of Limerick lads but that didn’t stop them having great fun fishing.
Conditions improved on Saturday for fishing albeit there was a bit of a swell. They had some lovely drifts for whitefish, and picked up a few nice species. While Sunday was a beautiful day on the ocean with some fine Pollack over the 3kg mark.
Go fishing…
