Jim Clohessy reports that both the bass fishing in east Cork  and the small boat fishing on Cork Harbour are off to a good start…

Season Kicks off for Robert F!

Polish angler Robert Fraczek got his bass fishing season off to a flying start in East Cork last week. Fermoy based Robert has been chasing the early bass for the last few weeks. “I have been trying marks between Dungarvan and Baltimore! Last week, the Youghal area produced for me with a cracking session. I had seven bass in a couple of hours all to lures. They were sized between 55-69cm. Hopefully it is a good sign for the season ahead!”

Cork Small Boats get cracking….

Small boat anglers fishing from Cork harbour took advantage of reasonably light winds but had to endure fairly cold conditions. “It was more winter than spring conditions” according to Jim Clohessy. Jim fished from his own boat for a mixed lure and bait fishing. “We had some nice fishing despite the cold. We had plenty fish but would have liked a bigger average size. Still, it was great to get out there after the tough conditions of recent weeks. Things will improve as the water temperature increases.”
