Strong winds and snow flurries on Lough Melvin make fishing difficult

Lindsey Clarke reports from LOUGH MELVIN – Monday 4^th March  to Sunday 10^th April 2016.

Lough Melvin was quiet this week with few rods out fishing due in great part to the blustery weather. The weekend was wintery and it seems Spring too a step backward! I have heard of no salmon caught to date. Trout fishing was good for those that managed to brave the conditions and 2 rods fishing in Kinlough Bay in fairly strong winds and snow flurries on Sunday, reported good numbers of quality Sonaghan caught.
