Stefan Martin from Killybegs Mariners SAC reports on the first round of their Summer League…

22 April: The first of the Mariners summer league outings took place on the most summery of locations in Donegal, Rossnowlagh beach last night throwing up some lovely fish from the big surf beach. Fishing an hour going and three coming most of the big flatties were caught on the hour going a few 38cm flounder and some nice double hauls and then some fine coley over our minimum 23cm and turbot and even a conger all measured and released again.

In the end everything was very close as both cash prizes were shared the winning scores of Pat Cunningham and Johnny Byrne of 267 points each and the longest fish prize was also shared by Pat and Christopher Noctor with 38cm flounders each. 11 anglers fished. Well done all.
Go fishing…
