Mick Flanagan reports on the fishing on Lough Lene…

Owen McEnteggart

Lough Lene is still producing some cracking rainbows with Owen McEnteggard having a fish just under 4lbs, and his pal Val Wynne had fish on dry Olives over 3lbs. I also had a few crackers on Nymphs, and Marty Smith had a super fish 4lbs 1oz, on wet fly.

The calm conditions early last week seem to suit the fish and it was surprising to see many Green Peters hatching on one particular day. Normally you would associate the Peters with the months of July and August when we stay late out on the lakes for the Murrough and Peter hatches.
