Another successful World Cup Trout Fly Fishing event was held on lough Mask over the August bank holiday weekend and over four hundred hardy anglers took to the water to test their skills against the best fly anglers from Ireland and overseas.

As usual, the final was held on bank holiday Monday following four tough days of heats and when the anglers returned for the weigh in on Monday evening it became clear that two anglers stood head and shoulders above the rest. Nigel Green of Ulster (seven fish for 9.77lbs) and Michael Twohig of Munster (8 fish for 9.28lbs) finished in first and second place respectively under the watchful eye of boatman John Munroe on the final day.
