Declan Gibbons reports on the fundraising event held on loughs Corrib and Mask:
A total of 52 Anglers fished on the day with a total catch of 34 fish. All of 16 Anglers fished on Lough Mask with a catch of 6 fish while 36 Anglers fished on Lough Corrib with a catch of 28 fish. Corrib has been the better lake since the competition first started in 2014. The total amount of monies raised for the IRISH GUIDE DOGS was €4,100; the CAST A LINE FOR AUTISM fundraising event has raised to-date €20,000 for Charities related to Children with Special Needs.
The results of the Fundraising event as follows:
Winner: Mark Regan with 4 fish for 3.290kgs
Second: Tom Doc Sullivan with 2 fish for 2.260kgs
Third: Basil Shield’s with 3 fish for 2.110kgs
Fourth: Stewart McGrane with 2 fish for 1.490kgs
Heaviest fish: went to Mark Regan for 1.240kgs
Top Lady Angler: went to Sue Kidby with 1 fish for 0.7kgs
Secret Weight: went to Basil Shields winning him entry to the World Cup 2019.
Following the event, organiser Dorrie Gibbons said ‘I would like to take this opportunity and thank all our sponsors and Anglers and friends who have continued to support this charity event since it first started in 2014 their generosity knows no bounds’.
