Trout fishing was somewhat slower this week, probably due to the very bright and hot conditions, although there were decent winds. A few grilse were reported with most hooked and lost for some reason but in truth the salmon fishing was slow given the numbers of grilse that must be in Melvin now; this is probably due to the bright warm conditions once again.
