Stefan Martin reports for the Killybegs Mariners in Donegal…
24 August: Some interesting catches again at the penultimate Mariners summer league outing last night. Small undersize flounders and small trout and a child’s dummy taking the hooks until darkness fell and the dogfish came hunting in packs along with some fine coley. There was even a conger eel for Brian which doubled the rod over from the river. Close scores at the end and longest fish prize was won by Sean O Donnell with a 33cm coley. In 2nd place with a haul of dogs and trout was Declan McGettigan and the winner once again having a great summer well done to Christopher Noctor with a good fishing of dogs and flounders. Well done to all who fished.
And the 2nd last Mariners summer league outing Is taking place this Friday evening on our local beach at Fintra with fishing from 20.00pm – 00.00am. Everyone welcome to join in and enjoy some fishing.
