O’Callaghans Bar & Guest House Open

24 August: The O’Callaghans Bar & Guest House Open today started off our three week series of summer festivals which saw Inniscarra Reservoir provide for some great fishing from all methods, pole, whip and feeder.

Trev Platt won the Open with 20.320kg

Trev Platt took the 26-peg match with 20.320kg from the Garden Centre. Devizes angler Nigel Franks came in second with 17.800kg also from the Garden Centre. Third place went to Ken Ince with 15.890kg from the Graveyard and 4th Alistair Ogilvie with 15.800kg from the Greenway.

Celtic Shield

25 August: Great fishing today on all sectors for day one of the Celtic Shield. A top weight for Paweł Świstuń with 28.620kg from Turtle Bay on the Greenway.

26 August: Mick Fordham wins day 2 of the Celtic Shield with 24.140kg from section A Garden Centre. But another good day for Paweł Świstuń and 21.970 from the Graveyard keeps him at the top of the leaderboard. 3rd today was Alistair Ogilvie with 20.640kg from Section A Fountain House.

27 August: Day three didn’t dissapoint with top catches coming from all sections. Rob Holt had today’s winning weight of 23.190kg from Turtle Bay. Just behind him was Paweł Świstuń with another great weight of 22.270kg from Fountain House, second on the day and festival winner! Third today was George Knight with 21.590kg from the Graveyard.

Congratulations to Pawel who fished a great competition winning with 72.860kg. Runner-up was Mick Fordham and last years winner with 62.280kg. In third place was John Fletcher with 55.880kg and finally after today’s weight Rob moved from 9th to finish in 4th with 54.040kg.

Impressive fishing over the last three days has shown an average daily match weight of just over 13kg. We now look forward to the next three days fishing the Vintners Cup, Coarse Fishing Festival.
