Inniscarra TDL reports from this popular coarse angling venue in Cork…

Cathal Hughes retains his title winning the St.Patrick’s festival two years in a row with 26.370kg. Consistent fishing over the three days led to his finish almost 8kg ahead of runner-up Rob Holt with 18.820kg and Adrian Bus 3rd with 18.120kg.

The festival was fished in tricky conditions with water levels rising overnight last night by 16′ and continuing to rise throughout the day. The Garden Centre produced well for Adrian with todays top weight of 10.390kg catapulting him into third place. Fermanagh angler Jordan Hall was 2nd today at the Graveyard with Cathal 3rd.

Many precautions were taken in order for the festival to go ahead but Inniscarra Lake Tourism Ltd have now taken the decision to suspend all festivals until the end of April, pending government advice post 29th March.

We would like to express our thanks to the sponsors of this event Jackie Lennox Chip Shop and to O’Callaghans Bar & Guest House for their hospitality which included cups of tea today! We would like to thank all anglers for attending in these uncertain times but in particular the local businesses who support the angling here in Coachford and the surrounding area with best wishes for the weeks to come.
