Erne Anglers report on round 8 of their winter league…
25 Anglers fished round 8 of the Winter League this weekend which was fished around the town of Enniskillen. Due to high water levels the Match Committee pegged the match in steady water off the main river. Overall winner on the day was Paul Eyers (Enniskillen) with 5.500Kgs of fish on the QE Road, Paul caught mainly quality Roach on the pole and the feeder.
Runner Up was D Kobrzynski (Dungannon) with 4.500Kgs at the Forum, third place was Simon Huthwaite (Enniskillen) 3.700Kgs also on the Forum. the overall league positions are very tight with John Potters for Lisbellaw leading on 42 points from Ewan Weed on 41 and Simon Huthwaite on 39. With two matches to go the battle is on for those further down the league to make the top 18 and qualify for the final, which will have almost £2,000 in prize money.
