Nice bags at Muckno

The Lough Muckno Matches & Festivals Group reports…
A health and safety audit took place on Lough Muckno during the week to test the efficacy of  protocols with regard to COVID guidelines and pedestrianisation area safety. Big Thanks to the Health and safety officer Martin Denny for his strict monitoring of all safety measures and adherence to health and safety guidelines on the training at Yellow Island.
The maximum 15 anglers facilitated this audit and the fishing on Yellow Island was excellent, despite the temporary exodus of the vast shoals of roach to their spawning grounds.
The winner was long time venue faithful Paul Heaney, with a fine 6.800kg of nice skimmers and hybrids, followed by Rory O Neill on 5.800 kgs and in third spot was the ever threatening Kevin Maguire on just under 4kgs.
Section winners were:
Noel Mc Nulty
Peter Walsh
Johnny Mckinley
Thanks to the participants for their attendance and their excellent compliance with the new common sense protocols. Great to be back on these wonderful shores, catching some lovely fish, even if somewhat restricted.
Big thanks to Peter Walsh for all his prep work and top class assistance throughout the comeback process.
