Avid fly anglers from far and wide made a beeline to the River Nore in Thomastown last weekend to participate in Ireland’s foremost river trout fishing competition the Thomastown Fly Fishing Competition. The competition is run in a pairs format over two days of fishing, with each pair allocated a stretch of river to fish during a session. Thirty teams competed in this year’s competition and the Tungsten Warriors eventually came out on top having led the field from day one.
