The first salmon of the season was caught at 1:45pm today on the River Drowes. Unlucky 13 for some, but 13 January will always be remembered as a lucky day by Garrett Byrne.
Garret was fishing at Lareen when he met this lovely fresh run fish. Fishing a weighted fly to get down in the river was the tactic that worked on the day. Garrett released his salmon after safely landing it, and the weight was estimated at 12lb.
