The Newbridge & District Pike Anglers were out on the banks last week fishing their Winder Cup competition and what a day it was for them. A total of 22 anglers turned out to find water levels higher than expected but luckily the banks were still fishable. And it turned out to be a bonanza, with 88 pike caught on the day including a very impressive tally of 10 doubles bringing the total weight to almost 400lbs. For the third time in the row, the competition was won by a specimen sized pike of 21lbs which was caught by Joe Humphries.
