Festivals are a huge feature of the coarse fishing calendar on Inniscarra and the weekend’s festivities kicked off with the Feeder Open on April 13th. The Open was fished on Section A, Garden Centre, Section B, Ballytrasna and Section C, Fountainstown. The best of the fishing was on sections A and B and JP Molloy took the win with 14.800kg.
O’Callaghan’s Feeder Festival
After the warm up act of the Open came the main event – The O’Callaghan’s Feeder Festival. Sections A and B fished best again and the leaders going in to Day 2 were Andy Butterfield, Paul Leese and Alan Larkin. Weights were up from the open, the top weight coming in at 20.230kg.
Day 2 saw the top 3 reshuffled and all the anglers in the top 7 or 8 must have felt there was a chance they’d take the win, especially those going on to fish in Section A and B. As it turned out, Section C suddenly turned on and the top 3 anglers all turned up good nets of fish on that section. Well done to Alan Larkin who totalled 46.920kg to win First Place.
Dave Bacon Open
The Dave Bacon Open rounded out the week of fishing and Section A and B performed better once more, particularly B. The results of the Open, sponsored by Jackie Lennox Take Away, saw Kevin Norcliffe take a good win on 16.080kg.
