Killarney Salmon and Trout Angling Cub are organising a juvenile outing on Barfinnihy Lake this Friday evening, September 6th, from approximately 6pm until 8.30pm.

Barfinnihy Lake, which is near to Molls Gap on the Sneem to Killarney road, is stocked with trout and is the ideal venue for a beginner to learn how to fish. There is a house nearby with postcode V93 VP84 which is a good guide for getting there.

Under 18s will need to be accompanied by an adult and there will be no permit fees to pay as this is being sponsored by Inland Fisheries Ireland; however, there is a €1.00 fee for the insurance cover sheet which needs the signature of a parent / guardian on the night.

Fishing methods allowed are fly fishing, bubble and fly, spinning and worms.

The club will have people there on the night that will offer instruction if required.  Please be mindful of our wonderful weather and be prepared for rain on the night. Please keep an eye to the local weather forecast – fishing takes place along the shore line and wellingtons would be essential.
