Canal anglers have had a hard time of it this year as low water levels on the canals have made fishing very tricky in a lot of places. Waterways Ireland has been working to address the issue, and it seems some progress has been made as the anglers from Edenderry Coarse Angling Club found that the canal had risen by a foot when they turned up for their last match. This helped them to some reasonable bags, despite some unwelcome sunshine and very clear water, and Dean Murray was the pick of the bunch with a very respectable 20lb+.

Results as follows:
1. Dean Murray Nytro 20lb 4oz mixed bag.
2. Alan Larkin 13lb 13oz roach .
3. Ollie Doyle 10lb 6oz mixed bag.
4. Brian Kane 10lb 2oz roach.
