Water levels are reported to be low on the Blackwater, but some beats upstream of Lismore have experienced an improvement in catch over the past two weeks. Reports are of a lot of salmon in the system, but they are not really taking. As we enter the last month of the open fishery, a lot more activity has been observed in the catchment, as anglers try to catch the elusive quarry before the September Catch & Release fishery is upon us. Sea trout encounters have also increased on the main channel, and there are also some reports of fish in the tributaries.
