Anglers enjoy a good day on Killala Harbour

On Friday 20^th June a party of anglers set out from Killala Harbour for a days fishing  on board LEAH. The Skipper Donal Kennedy came well prepared knowing that mackerel were very scarce and brought a bucket of fresh frozen fillets. The first drift produced a couple of mackerel with some nice pollack following behind. As the day moved on catches increased. Good to see because it had been very quiet up to then. The catches included pollack, ling, pouting and a couple of spurdogs.

The party returned to harbour well pleased with the day. The weather helped also, moderate south westerly winds.
