Lough Arrow Fish Preservation AssociationĀ and District AnglersĀ had its first competition of the season last weekend. Sunday was aĀ very mild but cold day andĀ at the startĀ conditions appearedĀ promising. Unfortunately there was no hatch of any sort during the day so the trout kept their heads down for the most part.Ā Ā By the end of the competition theĀ 25 anglers competingĀ reported 13 fish caught of whichĀ 10 wereĀ weighed in.
The winner of The Mayfly Inn Perpetual Cup was Paddy Carr with a fish weighing 2.722 lbs.
Results are as follows:
- 1st Paddy Carr 2.722 lbs
- 2nd Gavin Cogan 2.548 lbs
- 3rd Adrian Murphy 1.926 lbs
- 4th Karl Murrin 1.88 lbs
- 5th Thomas Walsh 1.618 lbs
