Good salmon fishing on the Moy, 60 fish reported

Billy Thornton, IFI Ballina, reports on the fishing on the River Moy last week…

With the River in great order fishing was good over the week ending 19 April. 60 salmon were reported caught throughout the system. On the Ballina salmon anglers water Nigel Lackey and P.J. Sweeney had fish of 9 & 10 lbs on worm. Tony Knox had a fish of 9 lbs on Attymass and Steven Killen had a fish of 11 lbs on Gannons.

Upstream of Foxford, Huber Kolasinski had a 10 lbs fish of the Foxford Salmon anglers water. Richard Malone & Stuart Blair both had 9 lb fish of Cloongee. On East Mayo waters Michael Zabat had a 8lb fish on fly, John Buckley 10 lbs on spinner and Kevin Attride 6 lbs on fly. Fish were also reported caught at Pontoon Bridge, River Deel, Ballyvary and trolling on Lough Conn.
