Monday 12th July  to Sunday 18th August 2019.

The week was a wet one and there was plenty of water in the river, indeed, too much on a couple of days! Monday to Thursday gave lovely water levels between 0.2 & 0.3 metres. On Friday there was a big flood (0.52m) which gave nice water on Saturday (0.30m). On Sunday there was another big flood (0.52m) and a number of rods cancelled. The gauge average for the week was high at 0.31 metres. 19 visiting rods fished over the week and there were fair catches of grilse.

On Monday, Alan Watson caught & released 2 grilse weighing 3 & 4lb on the fly from beats 8 & 9. On Friday, Adrian Whelan caught & released a 5lb grilse on spinner from beat 7 and Davy Sullivan caught & released a 5lb grilse also on spinner from beat 7. On Saturday, Oliver Cunningham caught & released 4 sea trout and a 3lb grilse on fly from beat 8. Kieran Boyle caught & released a 5lb grilse on fly from beat 8. Dermot Cassin caught & released 2 grilse weighing 3lb each on spinner from beat 9 and Davy Sullivan caught & released 3 grilse weighing 3, 5 & 7lb on spinner from beats 7 & 8. The forecast is for more wet weather and the prospects look good for the coming week.
