Peter Cunningham reported that at the last East Coast Angling, Drogheda, sea angling competition, seventeen anglers turned out for the one o’clock start and conditions were good, with south east wind turning east on the pushing tide with good surf. Fishing was slow and weed was a constant problem, add driving rain and some competitors found it too much.

By five o clock we had six anglers left conditions calmed and the sun shined and five of the remaining six hooked into bass. Ray Hoey had a 38cm flounder, Tony Brothwood had his first bass and turbot plus flounder to 30cm, Lucka had some nice flounder, Gareth Beckett had  bass to 41cm and the winner Darren Gallagher landed two bass and a flounder won a Sonik sk3 bass rod. Bait used rag worm, razor clam, fished best on the day.
