Still time to enter the Worlds Pairs with a chance to win £30,000

It’s not too late to enter the richest coarse match ever!

The Lakelands & Inland Waterways World Pairs Angling Championship, supported by Inland Fisheries Ireland and DCAL will highlight the magnificent wild angling in Ireland and promote tourism throughout the Lakelands region.

The competition kicks off with a draw at Mahon’s hotel, Irvinestown, co.Fermanagh on Sun 9th September where anglers will draw their section rotation for the week. Every angler will have the opportunity to fish the region with a section each in Monaghan, Leitrim, Cavan and two in Fermanagh.

The Five day Pairs match itself takes place from 10th – 14th September with anglers guaranteed the chance to win a share in the largest prize ever in coarse fishing!

Prizes are awarded based simply on the total weight caught by the pair of anglers over the five days. First prize is £30,000 for the winning pair, 2nd £10,000 and 3rd £5,000 along with crystal trophies and DAIWA tackle. Other prizes of £1000 will be awarded up to 18^th place with anglers given the option to win more with Individual Pools. DAIWA have kindly sponsored the Individuals match for which they will be providing tackle prizes.

The exact venues are yet to be confirmed, but here are the county sections.

Each county section has A and B venues to ensure paired anglers do not draw the same venue. Peg draws will take place in the relevant county each morning leaving ample time to reach the venues for the 5 hour matches. There is some driving involved in order to experience the varied venues but rest assured we are keeping any walking involved to a minimum!

Local events will be organised during the week where section money and prizes will be paid out. The grand finale being the presentation of prizes hosted by Cavan Crystal Hotel on Friday 14th September – it will be a fun night for all!

This exciting match is already well subscribed with entrants from the UK & Europe. Entry per pair is the unbelievable price of £70 (£35 per angler) when booked through the official travel partner for the event – otherwise entry is £90 per pair. Plus for those who want to practise anglers can take part in Open Individual Matches on both Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th giving them the chance to fish two of the sections.
