Twenty competitors, comprising of five anglers from each province, participated in the competition; all of them hoping to secure a position on the 2013 Irish River Angling Team. Despite being relatively high and very coloured, the Annalee, which is one of the finest trout rivers in Ireland, lived up to its reputation, producing 203 eligible trout. The largest fish of the day was caught by John Ruby from Mallow and measured a remarkable 46cm.

Peter Doherty, who had four placings will represent Ireland at the 2013 International match which will take place at the River Taff in Wales.
