Ken O’Neill reports

West Clare Rivers and Lakes

There are floods up in all of the West Clare Rivers.  The reservoir fishing is not great at the moment although a couple of small trout were caught at Kilkee reservoir during the week –the fish are generally keeping down deep in the water at the moment.

Fergus River

Inchiquin fished well last week with 12 Pike ranging from 3 – 18 lb. caught and released back into the lake.  There was a fly angling competition organised by the Disabled Fly Anglers Association that were raising funds to send an angler to Scotland for the International competition.

East Clare

Generally the lakes are quiet at the moment with few anglers utilising the resource.  Lough Graney was reported to have fished well last weekend for trout – although they were smallish.  Next Sunday (10th June) the Paddy Kelly Memorial Cup will take place on Lough Graney – hopefully there will be the same catches as the previous weekend.
