Paul Whelan updates us from Fort William on the Munster Blackwater:

We are after having a fantastic start to the month of April with 7 springers to date. 2 springers on fly, one to Mossy Brown of 8lbs and the other to his buddy Brian Hennessey of 8lbs which was landed on Sunday 7th. Pat Kiely who is new to the fishery is having great luck at the moment with 2 springers on spinner of 7lbs and 8lbs. Brian Hennesssy has the heaviest fish so far of 11lbs on spinner.
Our guide Bob had a beauty of 10lbs on spinner while “the new kid on the block” Mick Boylan from Laois landed hid first ever springer of 10lbs off the Castle beat.

Fishing has being difficult with this east wind and with the fishery being very lightly fished there seem to be plenty of fish moving through the fishery so long may it last.

Forecast for the coming week is not good so we can only wait and see what “Mother Nature” puts our way.
