When two experience men come together for fishing the outcome is undoubtable good.  This is the case with Wexford guide Sid Jones and Charterboat skipper Pat Condon.  Sid tells the tale:

Finally after a months wait due to bad weather my trip could finally go ahead. Crosshaven being the destination aboard Pat Condon’s Osprey II and to say we were all looking forward to it is an understatement.

Well done Amy Lynch

All aboard and steaming out to our first mark in no time at all with Pat at the helm, Pat quickly set the Osprey II up for our first drift and in no time at all we were into the fish with Amy Lynch landing the first fish of the day followed in quick succession by my son Dan bringing a mackerel to the boat. We fished hard drifting over the mark with good catches of ling being caught with a cracking 11lb ling for Amy Lynch.

As the day progressed we moved marks picking up ling, whiting, red & grey gurnard, mackerel, pouting, squid and conger eel.

Pat anchored us above a wreck and  we managed to bring up a few conger eels although we lost quite a few also !! The best surprise of the day was the service that Pat provided us with and the handing down of knowledge, tips and ideas along with an excellent fry up on a cold but very enjoyable November day. I couldn’t recommend Pat Condon highly enough, Excellent Skipper and a true gentleman.
