Shaun Hegarty reports that only a few brave souls ventured out on Curragh Springs this week as freezing temperatures, snow, stormy conditions and torrential rainfall made an appearance at some stage. Even during the worst weather all anglers bar one [who will remain anonymous] were rewarded with fish.

5 yr. old Harry Jepson from Sallins, caught and landed his first ever Rainbow with a little help from his Dad Garreth and suported by his Grandad Joe Byrne. Harry is a keen angler at such a young age and has been learning to fish since last Summer. However, the recent harsh conditions did not deter young Harry from having his day out on Saturday.

Both fishing and particularly, times, are a bit hard at the moment, fuel prices are gone through the roof. We understand that here at Curragh Springs. So if it helps a litle we will subsidize your travel costs Monday-Friday only. We normally charge Euro 30 per person for a full days fishing, 3 or more persons per car will now get a full days fishing catch & release for Euro 20 per person during the month of February. Our central location and close proximity to the M9 and M7 should make Euro 30 travel a long way.
