While it’s been given serious consideration I haven’t quite gone the whole hog and started rain dances in the back garden – yet!

The Poor old Rye Water is in need of a good old drop of rain, although if Met Eireann are correct my neighbours are going to be deprived of a rather interesting spectacle.

Rain is forecast for the weekend and cant come a minute too soon.  With more of a ‘push’ to the water and perhaps with a little colour added, fishing should be quite good again.

While the majority of the Rye Water has been running very low over the last week there are still one or two stretches which are worth casting a line over.

With (fingers crossed) raised water levels from this weekend on, Nymphs should produce good sport throughout the day  – especially PTN’s and Hares Ears but also worth consideration are Spider patterns such as Waterhen Bloa’s.
