A visit to Lough Ramor in Virginia Co. Cavan produced some nice fishing this evening for hybrids, roach and some perch. Low and clear water conditions accompanied by a gentle breeze and temperatures in the high teens. Feeder tactics were very simple and nothing complicated at all. A simple cage feeder with a fine darkened ground bait and double red maggot on a size 12 hook. Bites came nearly straight away in the shallow bay but consistency was hard to achieve. Bites dried up for short periods but as the light started to fade the hybrids came into the own with hard lightening fast bites which were difficult to hook on occasions. Plenty were hooked though and boy do they fight. Hybrids are great little scrappers. When planning your next trip why not give Lough Ramor a go!!
