Collie Ennis got in touch with us via the Twitter machine to let us know how the Rusty Hook Fishing Club got on the weekend….
The Rusty Hook Fishing Club headed out with Wicklow Boat charter skippered by Kit Dunne on Saturday 9th last in search of tope (weather permitting) and a bit of a species hunt and weren’t disappointed.
Some of the better sized fish included one 25lb tope was landed by Collie Ennis after a good fight on light gear and a huss of over a meter for Thomas McElheron.
The wind picked up so we headed in shore for a species hunt, landing dogs, codling, pollock, poorcod, dragonet and wrasse. To top it off Collie Ennis landed 2 black bream one after another on a running ledger rig, followed by another nice bream for Gary Murphy, all were returned to fight again another day.
