Joe FitzHarris tells us that better fish starting to show to sedges at Lough O’Flynn. English visitors Adrian Blackwell & Alan Bennett had a successful day recently catching 10 good fish to 2-lb on yellow dabblers and green peter fly patterns.
Some other catches included:
- Mark Malone had 4-fish for 7 lb for an evening.
- Keith Godfrey had 2-fish best 1 1/2 lb.
- Paul McEwan boating two friends landed a very good fish of 2 1/2 lb on sedge.

Lough O’Flynn is a 300 acre rich limestone lake located in Co Roscommon just north of Ballinlough village. There are good stocks of wild and stocked brown trout averaging about 1.5 lbs with fish to 3 to 4lbs sometimes caught. Find out more about Lough O’Flynn…
