“Great to be back out fishing !” that’s the news from Wexford guide Sid Jones of Fishing Ireland. The weather finally settles and Sid reports:

After keeping a close eye on the weather and looking over some marks recently I decided to target some bass. I wasn’t to be disappointed when on my third cast I struck in and landed a healthy schoolie bass, I took a quick photo and sent him off into the surf. It wasn’t long before the rod tip indicated another bite, a greedy lesser spotted dogfish this time taking a bait aimed for a bigger bass. I baited up again and on the next retrieve I was happy to see another schoolie bass, I quickly put him back and cast out again this time my rig returned with a coalfish. I was kept busy all through the rising and first hour of the dropping tide with four bass, a coalfish, a couple of doggies, a whiting and a few rockling and a flounder. Six different species and twelve fish in total … An enjoyable nights fishing with the targeted specie accounted for.
