WICKLOW BOAT CHARTERS report on some recent fine catches of Tope and Huss off Wicklow and many Blue Shark off Kilmore Quay…
Wicklow
The last week has produced a great number of Big BullHuss and Tope to 45lb off Wicklow, the big Tope have landed while the pack tope have moved off, this is normal for August / September. Dan Finlay recorded his Tope and Smooth Hound to bring his tally of species to 47, Joey Brady’s crew were pleased with 5 Big Huss and a couple of fine Tope, while John Higgins crew landed 3 Tope to 35lb in a sheltered spot on Monday.
South east shark
With the big numbers of Blue Shark coming to the boat we managed our first Irish Specimen Fish at 1.9 meters nose to fork of tail. This came to Shark Supremo Daniel O’ Kelly. Paul and his Dutch crew were happy with 5 Blues in 3 hours so went off to target a feed. Next on the list is the Porbeagle, we’ve yet to hit one this Month, but it’s not over yet.
