The stormy and wet conditions on Melvin continued for the most part with Saturday being a very rough day that no sane person would go out in.
Wednesday & Thursday did offer up 2 lovely ‘spring like’ days however and the 1st salmon of the season was recorded on the lough on Thursday.
This was a fine 11lb plus salmon caught by Noel Johnston at around 12 noon trolling at Garrison.
A further salmon was lost at 3pm by John Flanagan in Flanagan’s Bay when a swivel broke during the fight.
