Wicklow Boat Charters skipper Kit Dunne had some great shark fishing over the past week as blue shark and a welcome porbeagle made a return to the east coast.
First up was a group of anglers involved with Holy Mackerel fish oil products and the shark must have homed in on the slick they made as they managed 8 blues and a Porbeagle to the boat during the day.
Later in the week Kit had another group out chasing the blues and they fared almost as well with 7 blues to the boat. Top angler on the day was Tallaght angler Peter McCartin who landed 4 shark. I popped a measuring mat into Peter a few weeks ago and I’m hoping he’s getting to use it!
Peter’s angling companion George Gaffney got in on the action too as he managed to land his first ever blue and then went and got himself a bigger one.
